OneTap Speed is a browser extension that lets you control the video playback speed on YouTube and X (Twitter). Your privacy matters, and this policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.

Summary

OneTap Speed does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.

It has no servers, no analytics, and no trackers.

What data the extension handles

The only information the extension saves is your own settings:

• Your chosen playback speed (for example, 1.5x).
• Whether the speed control is turned on or off.

This is stored using the browser’s built-in chrome.storage.sync API. It stays within your own browser and, if you are signed in to Chrome, syncs across your devices through your Google account. This data never reaches the developer or any third party — the extension has no backend and makes no network requests.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect personal or sensitive information.
• It does not track your browsing history or the videos you watch.
• It does not read, store, or transmit the content of any web page.
• It does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party services.
• It does not sell or share any data with anyone.

Permissions and why they are needed

• storage — to save your speed setting and on/off state, and to sync them across your own devices.
• Host access to youtube.com and x.com — so the extension can find the video player on those sites and apply your chosen playback speed. It only acts on the video element; it does not read other page content.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new “Last updated” date.
